Hidden behind walls of thoughts not wanting to be remembered lie memories of an epidemic so silent, it almost entirely goes unnoticed.
Synopsis
Delving into the cited sources, it became increasingly obvious that these stories are not a distant thought, but a near threat. Taking ideas presented in Latoya's Essay and US Government statistics, I set out to uncover truth about sexual injustices. Shockingly I didn't have to look far. My own friends came out with stories of their own. Most have never been told, and others were too personal to even consider sharing. My message is simple: these taboo subjects must become part of normal discourse. For without identifying the crime, there is no way to fight the criminal. Paying attention, providing a non-judgmental ear, and instilling confidence are the only steps we can take to prevent the spread of this epidemic.
